10 Reasons to Give

1.     You have a desire to make a difference... to build a lasting connection with the people and the community that you hold dear...  By giving to the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, you can leave a legacy that will benefit your community forever.

2.      You will receive the maximum tax benefits allowed by law.  The KBCF is a public charity and as such, your gifts are eligible for the maximum tax benefits.

3.     You can establish a family fund and begin a tradition of giving for generations.  Share your values for generations by establishing a philanthropic fund and having your children and grandchildren participate in the joy of giving.

4.     You can establish a fund in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone.  Funds can be named for an individual, family or company.

5.     You can make sure that the causes and charities about which you care are supported forever.  You can establish a fund and have it support a general field of interest or a specific organization.

6.     You have additional taxable income this year and would like to donate money to your favorite charities, but are not sure yet which ones.  You can establish a donor-advised fund with the money you would like to give and lock in a tax deduction for the current year.  You can then take as much time as you like to decide where to give the money.

7.     Establishing a donor-advised fund at the KBCF is a wonderful alternative to setting up a private foundation.  Setting up a donor-advised fund is easy and does not require the paperwork associated with establishing a private foundation.  In addition, gifts to a public charity are deductible to a greater extent than those to a private foundation.

8.     You have five different fund options:  Unrestricted, Field of Interest, Designated, Donor Advised or Scholarship.  You can choose the type of fund that will enable you to meet your charitable objectives.

9.     You want to help young people with their education by establishing a scholarship fund.  The KBCF enables you to set up a scholarship fund and participate in establishing scholarship guidelines.
