  • Dr. Robert Kemper Award

    We are pleased to announce the first recipient of the Dr. Robert Kemper Award for Professionalism in Medicine Scholarship has been selected. Congratulations to Michael Hann, a third-year student and officer in the U.S. Navy who according to Dr. Eugenio Rothe was the “overwhelming choice” for the award due to his commitment to the qualities the award stands for: integrity, compassion, caring, etc.

    We look forward to honoring Hann on Friday, February 22nd, 2013 from 11:30am to 1:30 pm at The Links.

  • Software License Grant: Google Earth Pro

    The Key Biscayne Community Foundation has received a grant providing a software license for Google Earth Pro, a program that provides organizations with data import service, area measurement, movie-making, and high resolution printing. The KBCF will be able to take advantage of the different tools offered to qualifying non-profit organizations including its built-in GIS data tool, which will allow for the storage of images taken throughout the community.

  • Knight Community Information Challenge Grant

    KBCF is proud to be a winner of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation: Knight Community Information Challenge Grant. The grant is for $62,000 over two years and is a partnership between the Community Foundation, RSMAS, and the Village of Key Biscayne. The Knight Community Information Challenge engages community and place-based foundations in supporting news and information projects that inform and engage residents. The grant will support a citizen scientist program to involve residents in monitoring marine habitat to …
